Taken by my mother on my 12th birthday, through the hatch that
linked the lounge with the kitchen... I was quite honoured to be
given this space - this aperture was normally occupied by a small,
outmoded (it couldn't even receive BBC2) black and white television
set: Evenings in front of which were invariably marred by my mother
performing a series of curious gymnastic movements with the indoor
aerial...
